Overview
Canyon Lake Labs AES is the successor to Krimiskaya AES, rebuilt around the Canyon Lake Labs platform. It is currently in development, with an early access release targeted for early 2027.
Release details and availability will be published closer to launch.
History
Krimiskaya AES was going well. Development was moving forward and the project was, for a time, on track. That changed when copyright issues arose, which forced development to be halted. As a result, Krimiskaya AES was effectively postponed.
It is also worth being straightforward about the state it was in. Even while it was being worked on, Krimiskaya AES was extremely buggy, and large parts of it looked like they had been put together in about an hour. The builds were unstable, incomplete and rough around the edges.
Canyon Lake Labs AES is the successor. It is being rebuilt on the Canyon Lake Labs platform with the intention of shipping something stable, complete and properly finished, with an early access release targeted for early 2027.
Platforms
Canyon Lake Labs AES targets Windows, Mac, Linux and the web. To make that possible, the project was moved from Unity's High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) to the Universal Render Pipeline (URP). URP runs across a much wider range of hardware and supports a web build, so players on Windows, Mac, Linux and browsers can all play.
